Our Mission

Shamrock Academy of Irish Dance is committed to being a positive part of the development of our student's life skills while they learn and grow in Irish dance. We believe that the skills and determination required to become an Irish dance champion will help our dancers achieve any dream they set their minds to. We deliver:

Located in Champaign, we serve students from Mahomet, Champaign, Urbana, Tolono, Monticello, and other surrounding communities.

Our Instructor

Allie Hartlein ODCRN

  • Sixth American to receive the ODCRN Irish Dance teachers diploma through rigorous exam process in Dublin, Ireland

  • Masters of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois

  • Placed top 10 in the World Championships as a dancer

  • Passionate about teaching students how to work in a challenging and fun environment

  • Has been teaching Irish Dance in the Champaign area since 2016

  • Has taken a student from a new beginner to a Champion-level dancer in just 4 years.

  • High student retention ratio

  • Loves living an active life and being a positive role model to my students of all ages.

Our Story

The Shamrock Academy of Irish Dance was founded in September with just six students.

In 2018, the Shamrock Academy became Members of the Irish dancing organization Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN, based out of Ireland).  The dancers since took to the stage at their first competition in August 2018, and they already boast many Regional Award Winners, North American Championship Award Winners and World Championship Qualifiers.  Shamrock Academy also hosted the first-ever feis in Central Illinois in December 2018.

Beyond the competition stage, the Shamrock Academy has performed at the Allerton Irish Fest, on WCIA, at Fighting Illini Athletics events, in restaurants, at the Virginia Theatre, at Nursing Homes and more.  Their performances are known to be clean, captivating and exciting, and all of their students, from the new 3-year-old beginner to the North American Award winner, are encouraged to get on stage and perform. Shamrock Academy hosts an annual recital each year in June. Watch our website and social media for more information!
